Campus Maaienveld is a sports campus located at the bases of the 'Noordwijk' in Brussels.
The reason we chose the Brussels-North site was the 'lost' functions of the ground level. The axis that we redesigned was used more as a thoroughfare than for anything else. By making the axis traffic-free, we want to give a new dimension to the mowing field. This is where it happens. People live here, both students and people who would normally pass through as quickly as possible. The campus is very diverse, ranging from classrooms to sports fields to learning centres. Several cafeterias provide a variety of dining options.
We occupy the zero levels of the large skyscrapers, but in the meantime, we also give back functions to these towers. give functions back to these towers. Often these zero levels stand empty or are only used as reception or meeting areas. This brings diversity to the ground level and gives it more meaning.
A 400-metre athletics track runs through our sports campus that connects all the functions. This will be extended to a longer running track at the Rogier passage. There is a large bicycle shed under the central 'polar circle'. The bicycle path is also an important part of the site.
